IN CHARACTER
PHYSICAL AFFECTION:
Raine enjoys physical affection, but probably will not be open to it from people they do not know well.
PHYSICAL VIOLENCE:
Sure! Just ask before, please, especially if it is any sort of major act/injury. Raine can and will retaliate, and is very proficient in bard magic, but is both powerless and defenceless in this world unless of course they feed their entity. Raine is a bit sturdier than a human, but unlike Eda once a limb is off, it can’t be put back on.
RELATIONSHIPS:
Romantically, Raine is primarily interested in their canon love interest, Eda. That's not to say there's no potential for others in their life, but so far they've only really ever had eyes for Eda.
Platonically and friendship wise, Raine tends to be friendly but cautious towards strangers. They’re always open to new friends and faces in their circle, it just might take them a bit of time to trust you.
PSYCHIC & PSIONIC INFORMATION:
Raine, using their bard magic, can control others. This however can be countered by preventing them from playing, or blocking the ears of the afflicted.
MAGICAL INFORMATION: Raine is a witch, and can cast spells. However, due to having a Bard Coven sigil brand, their magic is constrained to magic casting methodology that revolves around playing notes or music. Their instrument itself isn't inherently magical, but rather any instrument can be used as a vehicle for their powers.
Raine's violin also contains a fox palisman, who can be separated from the violin to become an active, independently sentient creature. Their palisman shares a fear reserve with Raine.
Their magic is often manipulation of their surroundings; they can generate storms, summon and dispel instruments, create shockwaves, control others, transform matter, and more. Disarming them of their instruments renders them mostly harmless, but they've been shown to be able to whistle to generate magic as well. As stated above, counteracting their magic can also be done to an extent via covering your ears/the ears of the afflicted, but mostly for their manipulation of others.
MEDICAL INFORMATION:
Raine is a witch; they are mostly similar to humans, minus the bile sack that allows them to do magic without a focus or source.
OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS & TRIGGERS:
For Raine themself: Raine dislikes abuse of power from authority figures. They struggle with both being controlled against their will and controlling other people to keep those that they love safe. Raine struggles with anxiety, primarily stage fright, so making them go in front of crowds will not be handled well. Their relationship with Eda can be a sore subject, and though they’ll never speak poorly of her, they don’t like talking about their break-up. They also have an aversion to those that have a dislike of magic, witches, or non-humans.
Themes surrounding Raine:
-Anxiety/depression and general mental health (canon Raine struggles with stage fright, but I want to explore both how their breakup and being in the coven system affected them since canon does not)
-Isolation (canon theme that goes hand in hand with brainwashing/lack of agency)
-Brainwashing, loss of memory and lack of agency (canonically is controlled, possessed, and had an attempt at brainwashing from another coven head)
-Deception/manipulation (canonically lies about being brainwashed, but general themes of Raine themself deceiving others and being deceived by the covens)
-Attempted Genocide (canon content that holds themes of Puritanism, witch trials, etc.)
Feel free to ask if you do not want any of these discussed in our threads!

FIRST IMPRESSIONS
VISUAL:
Raine is a shorter, medium-skinned witch. They have shorter pointy ears, and has naturally occurring mint green hair that is turning white at the bottom, and green eyes. They wear a pair of round glasses, a singular gray earring, and a long, black tunic with a maroon collar, gold trim, three gold buttons, a brown belt, crimson pants and black, knee-high boots.
AURAL:
Raine is voiced by Avi Roque.
OLFACTORY:
Raine usually smells very clean, like sandalwood, as well as rosin.
DEMEANOUR:
Raine is generally friendly, if not a bit shy at first. They try to keep a cool exterior but has an anxious streak that shows up if put in front of a crowd, and can be a bit snarky if they’re up against a foe.
